How this list works: firms are ordered by FP Score, our 10-point score from a published methodology. It is not a user rating. We may earn a commission from firms labeled “Affiliate partner”; that never affects scores or order. Last checked November 3, 2026.

Highlight

Prices are for the cheapest evaluation before promo codes. Rules change often, so confirm current terms on the firm's site before you buy. Some firms we track (Apex Trader Funding, Take Profit Trader, Lucid Trading) are not listed yet because we couldn't verify their current terms from official sources.

How to choose a futures prop firm

The cheapest evaluation isn't always the cheapest path to a payout. Compare these four things before you buy:

  • Drawdown type. End-of-day trailing drawdowns only move when you close the day higher. Intraday trailing drawdowns follow open profits, so giving back an unrealized gain can end the account.
  • Total cost. Add the evaluation price, any activation fee, resets and data fees. A monthly plan keeps billing until you pass.
  • Payout rules. Check the split, how many winning days you need, the minimum payout and any caps per request.
  • Platforms. Make sure the firm supports the platform you already know.

Frequently asked questions

What is a futures prop firm?

A futures prop (proprietary trading) firm sells evaluation accounts. If you hit a profit target without breaking its risk rules, you get a funded account, usually simulated, and can request a share of the profits as payouts.

Which futures prop firm is cheapest?

Of the firms we've verified, Topstep has the lowest entry price at $49 a month for a 50K Combine, but the Standard path adds a $149 activation fee. Tradeify's Growth plan starts at $99 one-time with no activation fee.

Do most traders pass prop firm evaluations?

No. Most participants do not pass. Treat the evaluation fee as a cost you may not recover, and only trade with money you can afford to lose.

Does FuturesPro get paid by these firms?

FuturesPro may earn affiliate commissions from some firms. Those firms are labeled, and commissions never change scores. See our affiliate disclosure.

Frequently asked questions

What is a futures prop firm?

A proprietary (prop) trading firm sells you an evaluation. If you pass its profit target without breaking its loss rules, you trade a funded account and keep a share of the profits, often 80% to 90%. Most funded accounts are simulated, and the firm pays out from its own funds.

How do you rank prop firms?

Each firm gets an FP Score out of 10 based on cost, rules, payouts, platforms and transparency, using only information from the firm's official site. Affiliate deals never change a score. The full method is on our How We Rank page.

Which prop firm is best for beginners?

It depends on your budget and style. Firms with end-of-day trailing drawdown, no or soft daily loss limits and one-time fees are usually easier to manage. Read our guide to the best prop firm for beginners or compare firms side by side.

What is the difference between end-of-day and intraday trailing drawdown?

End-of-day drawdown only moves up when your balance closes the day higher. Intraday drawdown follows your highest unrealized balance during the day, so it can trail up mid-trade. See EOD vs intraday trailing drawdown and try the trailing drawdown calculator.

How often is this data updated?

We re-check every firm about every two weeks against its official site. Each review shows the date it was last verified, and changes we find are listed in our rule change log.

Do most traders pass prop firm evaluations?

Firms rarely publish pass rates, so we can't give a reliable number. Evaluations are paid programs with strict loss limits, so treat the fee as money you could lose and size your trades to the rules.
