A daily loss limit (DLL) caps how much you can lose in one day. Some firms fail the account if you hit it; others just stop you trading until the next session. Plenty of traders prefer plans without one. Here's what we found on official help centers and sites as of November 3, 2026, plus what to watch for instead.
Plans with no daily loss limit
| Firm | Plans without a DLL | Drawdown type |
|---|---|---|
| My Funded Futures | Rapid, Rapid EOD, Pro | EOD (Rapid becomes intraday trailing when funded) |
| Tradeify | Select (evaluation and Select Flex funded) | EOD trailing |
| Alpha Futures | Standard and Advanced evaluations; Advanced qualified | EOD trailing |
| Bulenox | Option 1 risk model | Real-time trailing |
| Topstep | Optional in the Combine and Express Funded Account | EOD trailing |
One detail worth noting: Alpha Futures lists a daily loss guard on Standard qualified accounts ($1,000 on 50K) even though the Standard evaluation has none. Topstep's daily limit is optional in the Combine and Express Funded Account but automatic in its Live Funded Account.
Plans that do have one
- Tradeify Growth: $1,250 on 50K, pauses trading for the day
- MFFU Builder: $1,000 on 50K, pauses trading
- Alpha Futures Zero: a daily loss guard of $500–$2,000 by size
- Earn2Trade Gauntlet Mini 50K: $1,100
- Bulenox Option 2: pauses trading
- Topstep, if you choose it: $1,000 / $2,000 / $3,000 on 50K / 100K / 150K
Soft limits versus hard limits
Not every daily loss limit ends your account. Topstep's help center says hitting its DLL flattens positions and blocks new trades until the next session, and that it is not a rule violation. Tradeify's Growth limit is described as a soft breach that stops trading for the day without failing the account. A soft limit is often a useful safety net rather than a trap, because it stops a bad day getting worse.
Topstep even offers a small discount on its No Activation Fee Combine if you add the daily loss limit at checkout ($10 off on 50K).
Why traders want no DLL
- Room to recover. A morning loss doesn't end your day if your setup appears again later.
- Fewer rules to track. You only manage the maximum drawdown.
- Strategy fit. Swing-style intraday strategies with wider stops can hit a tight daily limit on normal noise.
No DLL doesn't mean no limit
Without a daily limit, the maximum drawdown is the only thing between you and a failed account, and one bad day can use all of it. Many of these plans also have consistency rules. Set your own daily stop, and size positions with our position size calculator.
Example: a 50K account with a $2,000 drawdown and no DLL. You trade two NQ with a 25-point stop, risking $1,000 per trade. Two losing trades in a row end the account before lunch. With two MNQ on the same stop, each loss is $100, and the same two losses cost $200. A personal daily stop of, say, $500 would end the day after five such losses with three-quarters of the drawdown intact.
Setting your own daily stop
If your plan has no DLL, write one into your trading plan. A few common approaches:
- A fixed dollar amount: for example, 20% to 25% of the maximum drawdown ($400 to $500 on a $2,000 limit).
- A number of losing trades: stop after two or three full stop-outs in a row.
- A give-back rule: stop if you lose half of the day's peak profit.
Most platforms let you set an automatic daily loss limit in the account settings, which is more reliable than willpower. Record every time you hit it in your trading journal.
Drawdown type matters more
Whether a plan has a DLL is less important than how its maximum drawdown moves. An intraday trailing drawdown, like MFFU Rapid's funded stage or Bulenox Option 1, follows your open profit and can shrink your room without a single losing trade. An end-of-day drawdown only moves on closing balances. Read EOD vs intraday trailing drawdown before you choose.
How to pick
- If you tend to revenge trade after losses, a soft DLL may protect you from yourself.
- If your strategy needs wide stops or trades several times a day, a no-DLL plan may suit you better.
- Check the funded-stage rules, since they can differ from the evaluation.
- Check news rules too. MFFU, for example, restricts trading around Tier 1 events on Rapid and Pro sim-funded accounts.

Frequently asked questions
Which futures prop firms have no daily loss limit?
Among firms we verified: My Funded Futures (Rapid, Rapid EOD and Pro), Tradeify Select, Alpha Futures Standard and Advanced evaluations, and Bulenox Option 1. Topstep makes it optional in the Combine and Express Funded Account.
Does hitting a daily loss limit fail the account?
It depends on the firm. Topstep's and Tradeify Growth's limits pause trading for the day rather than failing the account. Check each plan's wording.
Is no daily loss limit better?
Not automatically. It gives you more flexibility, but one bad day can use your whole drawdown. Many traders on no-DLL plans set a personal daily stop.
What's the difference between a daily loss limit and max drawdown?
A daily loss limit resets each session and caps one day's loss. The maximum drawdown is the overall loss limit for the account, and touching it usually ends the account.
Can I add a daily loss limit to Topstep?
Yes. Topstep lets you choose a DLL at purchase in the Combine and Express Funded Account, and its pricing page lists a small discount for adding one on the No Activation Fee path.
